June 1973 marked the historical beginning of secondary education in Lumban. Thanks to the effort of barrio youths, 𝗪𝗮𝘄𝗮 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝘆 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 (𝗪𝗕𝗛𝗦) was enacted. Initially, the school was sharing the classroom of Wawa Elementary School, which is headed by Mr. Enrique A. Javan.
It was in 1979 that the school officially operated, naming it 𝗪𝗮𝘄𝗮 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 (𝗪𝗡𝗛𝗦). As years went by, the school obtained its own land, thanks to the generous donation of Mrs. Emillia D. Yu and family.
In 1984, Mr. Javan retired, and Mr. Nilo Y. De Robles takes the lead as the Teacher-in-Charged, being promoted to School Principal eight months after. With the effort of Mr. De Robles, the school obtained another 600sq.m. of land (currently the spot where Lumban Senior High School is Located), thanks to the Sangguniang Bayan.
Mr. De Robles continue his effort in acquiring additional school site that can accomodate more students. Fortunately, the late Congressman Magdaleno M. Palacol approved the request and the school obtained an additional 6000sq.m. (the current address of the school) after three years.
After being a frontrunner of secondary education in Lumban for nearly three decades, the school was renamed as 𝗟𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗮𝗻 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 (𝗟𝗡𝗛𝗦) in 2008 by the virtue of Kapasiyahan Blg. 59 ng Sangguniang Bayan ng Lumban.
In 2016, the school also briefly housed the Grades 11 and 12 students before it detach and became independent in 2016 being officially named as Lumban Senior High School.
As of today, Lumban National High School continue to uphold high quality education in the new normal.
